Reality in check, thanks to The Daily Blues. I will be a better person, starting now.

Please do not judge me when I drive 8 hours in my auto for one of your shows all the way over there...in another state. I promise to fill all 6 seats up, but we will be using our own energy to groove.

When it all comes crashing down, we're headed for an agricultural, localized, community based way of life, to feed ourselves, to survive. A tribal way, utilizing the strengths of individuals for the common good. Full circle. Everyone in such a co-op must be productive.

We have disabled 'natural selection' as a species and this is unsustainable. We cannibalize the productive, the prosperous, in order to prop up the nonproductive. We will pay the price. It's not political, it's nature.

You cannot 'give' someone the American dream. They have to HAVE the dream and not on the backs of others. That's we're we've gone wrong.

'The American dream' is misunderstood, it was originally coined in the Wilson era as a progressive mantra. Redistribution. Compassion must be deserving and not forced from ones grasp, wasted and squandered. Let the people distribute the resources. Our hearts are big for those who deserve. Government is divided, crooked and wasteful.

With great respect...Keep up the good work, debate is healthy. I'll be back...

Todd, I love talking philosophy like you do, and as such, I welcome your praise or your loathing. It's all about critical thinking between people who might disagree. Having said that, please allow me to expound on my earlier post. We've got to be smarter as a species. New Orleans, after Katrina... rebuild? No, Get out! You're in a hurricane zone! Below sea level! East Africa... Drought, famine, and death, dude, these are the offspring of 'save the children' of 15 years ago! Extreme examples of where we interfere out of righteousness, in places where human beings should not live. This is natural selection gone unnatural. We should not be proliferating the suffering again and again. I will help them, but with birth control and relocation.

How does that apply to our economic future? Well, what we've done with societies nonproductive is largely the same thing, we cultivate a culture of entitlement, instead of correcting the problem, instead of helping the poor become productive. Hey, a little entitlement is good, but history has shown again and again, that too much (socialism) ends in genocide. The more an individual feels entitled, the more they feel they don't need to be productive. Tough love is what's needed. Like you said, educate yourself, create, find something (other than hurting others) that makes your heart soar.
